Deaf Services
St. Vincent Family Center Deaf Services Program is a specialized, therapeutic program with outpatient and community based services for Deaf and hard of hearing children, 3 to 18 years of age.
We offer multi-faceted therapeutic services for Deaf children and hearing children of Deaf adults (throughout the state of Ohio, with a home office in Columbus, Ohio).
Our goal is helping each child develop the skills needed for positive interactions at home, school and in the community.
Services are provided in a culturally affirming and linguistically appropriate manner. We provide individual and family therapy and case management. Our staff includes licensed mental health professionals trained in milieu and crisis intervention.
The children we serve have generally experienced emotional, social or behavioral challenges. Many of the families we serve have had limited access to treatment or community mental health treatment.
All staff are ASL fluent with specialized training in serving Deaf and hard of hearing clients. Our Medical Director, a licensed child psychiatrist, works with our nursing staff to address medical and psychiatric needs. We coordinate interpreting services to facilitate communication between hearing and Deaf individuals.
